Overview of Cambridge Street Asset Management LLC:
Cambridge Street Asset Management LLC (CSAM) is the external Asset & Property Manager for Royal Oak Realty Trust Inc. (Royal Oak). Royal Oak is a private Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) focused on acquiring net leased commercial, office and medical office properties in the United States. Royal Oak has completed 60 real estate acquisitions and has approximately $650M in portfolio asset value. CSAM manages the equity and debt capital financing for Royal Oak, identifies and closes the purchases of investment properties, and provides other support services that include property management oversight, REIT compliance monitoring, preparation of accounting/tax statements for investors, and related services.
Job Description:
CSAM is looking to hire a Due Diligence & Closing Associate to assist the firm with the acquisition of commercial real estate properties. Key responsibilities for the position will include:
- Outreach to established third-party service providers to source required property acquisition due diligence assessments and reports
- Collect and review commissioned appraisals, property condition, environmental and other due diligence reports, and other information to evaluate this information relative to the firm’s acquisition criteria
- Utilize this information to support potential investments including environmental, property condition and appraisal considerations
- Prepare and assist in the presentation of report summaries, board materials and other presentations
- Help monitor and maintain acquisition timeline requirements
- Manage vendor relationships
- Assist Chief Investment Officer and other members of management in special projects and other assignments as needed
Applicants for this position should have a strong interest in commercial real estate, be detail-oriented
and possess excellent analytical skills. Strong attention to detail with proficiency in technical reading comprehension and ability to develop summary analysis on a variety of pre-acquisition data.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree in real estate or business
- 3-5+ years of experience in real estate, general business, or other relevant industries
Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of appraisals, property condition, and environmental reports
- Proactive, self-sufficient, and organized
- High level of attention to detail/accuracy and ability to interpret and analyze a variety of report types
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a timely fashion
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Direct Reporting:
The Due Diligence & Closing Associate will report directly to the Chief Investment Officer.
